While traditional in French Champagne, where it adds delicious fruitiness and roundness, Pinot Meunier is uncommon in Australia. This wine is a delight, from the lifted lively aroma, through the creamy fine bubbles, initial freshness then lingering yeasty fruit on the palate.
Rarely found in Australia, but popular in Europe, we grow this grape at 350-400m on the Barossa foothills. Fresh, aromatic, and with the characteristic citrus which our Pinot Blanc grapes produce. This wine is especially suited to Thai food, to sea food, or on its own.
A variety with Rhône origins, now grown at our vineyard in the Barossa Valley. A touch of sweet stone fruits and white peach at first, then savoury on the back palate. Very special and very different!
Fermentation in new French oak has created a complex, balanced wine, full of flavour. A return to the classic, elegant Chardonnay style. Not too heavy and not too light.
Produced from grapes planted in 1972 from an older Barossa clone. Matured in new French and two year old American oak. The palate is a concentrated balance of dense plum and blackberry, with an underlying presence of fresh jucy tobacco.
True to Jb Wines style – a plush, full bodied Barossan red. Ripe cabernet grapes from the usual six rows of our Sobels block have produced a wine showing dark fruits, exotic spices and underlying dark earth. French and American oak have added cigar box character and sophistication.
It has very good length on the palate and is expected to cellar to 2032 .
A mix of French and American oak (75% French 25% American) and made up of 55% Cabernet and 45% Shiraz, this parcel was matured in oak for 24 months.
Blackcurrant, varietal mint/eucalypt spring from the glass along with vanilla and toasty buttery notes. A rounded, creamy pallet with beautiful dried herbs.
A wine that is in a really good spot – still showing primary fruits but some secondary characters beginning to shine through.
Our Pinot Blanc grapes remained on the vine well past their usual harvest time to create this special wine. Elegant alluring aromas, delicate citrus, poached pear flavours, culminating in delightful sweetness.. all wrapped up in this 500ml bottle.
