Our Jb Wines Church Road Chardonnay 2015
WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS
Harvest date was timed for our Church Road Chardonnay early in February. The elevated vineyard allows cool evening breezes that help slow the ripening bringing complex fruit character and sugar acid balance.
Hand picked and hand selected in the chill of early morning.
A third of our Chardonnay juice is cooled and racked into new French oak with the balance in stainless steel tank. Natural inoculation for the barrel for fermentation and seeded for tank adding complexity to our finished wine.
Our Chardonnay 2015 wine remains on yeast lees before being racked and blended with finished tank ferment.
We were pretty happy with the 2015 vintage for our whites but easily the standout was our Church Road Chardonnay. Like all good chardonnays, perfect drinking after a few years to develop. Get into it!
